Risk Assessment Services:
The tremendous risk exposure resulting from successful attacks and globalization of threats continue to make security a primary issue. Security should be commensurate with its risks. However, the determination of which security controls are appropriate and cost effective is quite often a complex and sometimes subjective matter. One of the prime functions of security risk analysis is to make the process as objective as possible. We utilize the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) seven-step methodology in conducting risk assessments. Security risks at specific locations are identified and communicated, along with multiple options for consideration for appropriate mitigation. A risk assessment is applicable in any environment where people and/or assets are at risk of a security related incident or event which may result in asset loss, injury or death.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery:
Catastrophes occur as a result of a failure to deal with an initial crisis. Business Continuity Planning (BCP) offers a solution. BCP is the process of creating, testing, and maintaining an organizational plan to recover from any form of disaster. Every BCP strategy includes three fundamental components: risk assessment, contingency planning, and the actual disaster recovery process. BCP should encompass every type of business interruption–from the slightest two-second power outage/surge to the worst possible natural disaster or terrorist attack. Properly written, a BCP is a collection of procedures and information, which is developed, compiled and continually maintained for use in the event of an emergency or disaster. Putting it simply, business continuity is the process of planning to ensure an organization can survive an event which interrupts normal business processes. Disaster recovery is the process which takes place during and after an organizational crisis to minimize business interruption and return the organization or establishment as quickly as possible to a pre-crisis state.
